Welcome

This situation seems strange to me, I’m writing to someone I may or may not know, a person who might what to know what I believe as a Pastor, or a person who wants to know something about Singleton Baptist Church or maybe a person who is just looking.

It is strange as I can’t ask you what you want to know. So what I have done is chosen some key words that hopefully help you understand what Singleton Baptist Church stands for:

JESUS – it’s about Jesus. He is to be our centre, our guidepost, our goal. Therefore we talk about Jesus, we seek to be like Jesus, we strive to bring honour and glory to Jesus. We don’t forget or downplay the Father or the Holy Spirit – we simply put Jesus at the centre of who we are. It is our relationship with him that defines us as individuals and as a church.

BELONG – we are place where people can feel they belong, no matter what stage they are at in their faith journey with God. We seek to be a safe place where people can explore faith issues, develop friendships and if needed, have space to heal.

PASSION – that we be passionate about what we believe. The passion of knowing Jesus urges us to worship & serve him, to be exploring his word, to be using our spiritual gifts, and to be sharing our relationship with Jesus with others.

ENCOURAGE – that from the newest person to the Leadership Team, as a church we seek to encourage each other. It means we are willing to take risks, explore new ministry opportunities and support one another during the good & bad times.

So I hope this helps you in some way. Come and check us out. Can’t say what you will find as our times together tend to vary in style and what is happening on the day. The things that don’t change are we gather to honour God, and encourage & support each other as we face a new week. Oh, the cuppa and morning tea aren’t bad either.
